NATUR - Dino Destroyer

In anticipation for the release of their album that takes influences of Sabbath and Mercyful Fate and takes it to a new level, we caught up with Dino Destroyer to talk B-movies, Stephen King and how lunch is the highlight of the day!

Interview by Matt Dawson

Describe in three words what listeners should expect from Head Of Death…
HEAD OF DEATH

Now given there’s two tracks on the album that are called ‘Goblin Shark’ and ‘Spider Baby’, be honest is someone in the band that’s a big fan of B-movies like Sharktopus and aside from the two creations named on the album what would you combine together?
It's pretty safe to say that we're all pretty big fans of b-rated horror films. Penis fly-trap!!!, Daveysaurus!!!,  Mosquito lizard !

What inspired the idea of ‘mutations in maine’? Is there just a slight possibility of stephen king influence at all?
It's pretty much The Langoliers on acid.

How was it playing at Live Evil? I’ve heard that the mighty Fenriz from Darkthrone has been a big fan of Natur, how does it feel to endorsed by him?
It's all good! We're all fans of him and respect his taste in tunes. It was a great experience to get to go to London and play that festival.  All the other bands were awesome and we all had a real swell time.

What would you say was the best moment when recording the album?
Everyday around lunchtime we would be starving. Someone would say "I’m starving", then we would fight over  the menu and order chicken parms from  the nearby italian joint down the street.

Of course Brooklyn, hell New York seems to be quite a good place for metal recently with bands like yourself, what other bands from the area would you recommend?
Syphilitic lust, mutant supremacy, villains, occultation, knight terror, trenchgrinder, and negative plane are all extremely good nyc bands at the moment. They are all totally different from each other as well. Their musical styles range from sleaze metal/rock, to death/black metal. It's cool to see these bands doing well and we're  optimistic that they keep kickin' ass.

Now as the facebook starts with the lines ‘it all began with sabbath’ what do Natur see as the future of metal itself?
The future is uncertain. It is all up to the E.T's, as we enter the golden age.

Are there any plans to return to the UK and Europe any time soon? We would really love to do that. We would probably do a proper U.S tour beforehand.

It is definitely one of our goals to go out and tour europe. We did get a great response when we played in London.

Who would be the one band each member would love to support and why?
I would say Black Sabbath because  they are the first metal band. They set the foundation for everything that ever came after that. They are one of my faves, of course, it's a no brainer.  Tooth would love to support Mercyful Fate in the 80s, to see that live show every night would be godly!! Henry our new addition to low end assault would have to choose Iron Maiden in this category since they have been the ultimate metal band live and in the studio for 30 years and are still going strong with no end in sight! Ryan would like to share the stage  with Judas Priest with KK Downing back in the band because it's Judas fuckin' Priest.

Any final words to the fans?
I HOPE YOU LIKE THE GUITAR SOLOS!
